It’s unbelievable how we end up here. It seems like it was yesterday that we were doing the Needs Must Project. It’s very surprising how quickly I have adjusted in Nottingham. Coming from London from the chaos to a small city with a totally different daily life. Here I feel more relaxed and also the distance between the different places is almost non-existed.
When I decided to do an MA course I liked the fact that I was going to work on one project for the whole year. Now that I am on the course I feel like one year is not enough for to achieve all of goals. It’s very nice that I met new people from different disciplines and have the chance to talk about our work and debate.
I believe that the tutors and students from the college helped me a lot on my research and to adjust on the course. I enjoy the course and I feel more confident now about my work and I am excited about new things and collaborations that I will possibly do in the future.
The work experience that I am doing at Debbie Brown’s studio and shop makes me feel more positive for my future career. After Christmas break I am planning to work on a project for Debbie in order to direct a photo shoot of her designs. From collaborations like this I have the chance to make contacts, exchange ideas with other artists and have the chance to the experience that I want for my career.
This reflective journal is like a diary for me where I upload everything that considers me and inspires me. All of my tutors, fellow students and friend can leave a comment about my work, something that I really like. I believe that the feedback that you get from people who don’t really know what we are researching is very interesting because personally it motivates me to research different areas that I haven’t done before.
I love the Fashion World and I would like to work on the future in the Art Directing of a fashion brand or any fashion presentation. Coming from a different background, Theatre Design for Performance I see my self, working in the Advertising and Production area. Now that my research is based on the visual communication and how the clients communicate with the target audience I am very thrilled that I have chosen this course and sometimes I think that I could continue this project on PHD course.
I am looking forward to start the next phase and I am planning to develop a lot of ideas. The Christmas break is just a time that we could spend with our families and still continue the research and explorations.
