Gris Grimly and TIm Burton

At this point I am trying to find inspiration from the two illustrators, Gris Grimly and Tim Burton. Also I find inspiration from Adams Family. My main idea is to have a theme for the photo shoot but each garment will be presented with a different story- different scene. So I have been looking at their work and collecting images that will give me ideas of how my scene will be. There are a lot of elements that I can use form their work such as the mood, the colour, the lines and shapes. I really like the characters that they have and how interesting they are. These are some of the images that I believe they gave me inspiration to develop my ideas.

Gris Grimly:

I really like the hair and the make up of Grimly's characters. The colours are more neutral and soft.

Design Museum

I visited design museum and I was really impressed by the range of products that were exhibited. I was amazed by the design of BMW, which was made out of leather and had a special mechanism, which was transforming the shape and form of the car.

Visitting Galleries

Came Back from Easter Break!!!!

During my holidays I visited some galleries in London. I visited Tate Modern where I had the chance to see the major exhibiton of The Van Doesburg and the International Avant-Garde .

“Van Doesburg, who worked in disciplines within art, design and text, founded the far-reaching movement and magazine De Stijl. This artistic movement of painters, architects and designers sought to build a new society in the aftermath of World War I, advocating an international style of art and design based on a strict geometry of horizontals and verticals”

I was amazed by the massive work that was displayed and really excited to see Dada collage and posters as well as the De Stijl magazine and the graphics that were used.

Summative Comment

Model Testing- Fashion Photography: Ismini Chacholiadou, Model: Amy El

I did this photo shoot in order to test the model that I' m going to use for the photo shoot of Hiro's designs.

I am very satisfied with Amy's skills as a model as well as her proportions. I am considering the fact that i might need more than one model for the presentation of the designs.

I have worked in the past with the Photographer, Ismini Chacholiadou so our collaboration was perfect. I really like her work and I am very excited that we have the chance to collaborate again for my MA project.
